Owen is 5 months old!

Today my Owen is 5 months old! Wha? Where does the time go? I will have to post pictures later but for now, here is some fun stuff to learn about my Owey :)

He likes to smile at everyone and usually gives a big, open mouth grin (sometimes he sticks his tongue out too)

He is stingy with his laughs - He makes you work for it!

He started eating solid foods about 2 weeks ago. He has tried rice cereal, oatmeal cereal, and avacado. He likes them all!

He still wakes up to eat about 2 times a night.....but.... I'm naughty and bring him in bed with me so I don't have to REALLY wake up.

He is a momma's boy.

He loves water; showers or baths. He HATES getting lotion and clothes on.

He can roll over in all directions. That means I have to vacuum and sweep the floors daily to avoid chokers (things he could choke on)

He likes to suck on his toes

He has learned how to scream. You know. THE scream. When he's mad, or hungry, or playing....

He's a big boy. At his 4 month appointment, he was 17 lbs. 13 oz. I'm guessing he is around 19 lbs now.

His hair has lightened to a lightish brown with a little red in it. Sometimes it looks blond too. Maybe strawberry blond? Hmmmm

I love my Owey Bear!

Nutcracker 2011

Can I just say how much I love ballet?! AND, how much I love that I can live as a ballerina vicariously through my daugher?! Haha! Anyway, Idaho Ballet Theatre's The Nutcracker this year was amazing! For the past 8 years, dancers from Utah Regional Ballet have joined us in performing the professional dances. Every year, Brandy (owner, teacher, artistic extraordinaire) has fazed out the professional dancers as the older girls in our company have gotten better. This year was the 1st year that all the dancers were local with the exception of Vlad Marculescu, a professional male dancer from Romania.

Speaking of Vlad...Whew! I have to admit us ballerina mommies went googoo over Vlad. We fought over who could pick him up from the hotel to bring him to the studio. One mom made him cookies. He was amazing. Look him up on youtube! That man can jump! Jozlyn got his autograph and a picture with him. Unfortunately she had her coat on instead of her costume but oh well.

Anyway, Jozlyn was a party girl! The coveted dance from the time any girl starts dancing in preballet. It's a long time on stage (I think around 30 minutes). There are 4ish (I think) dances and some acting too. She was also a soldier on Friday night (same dance she did last year), and an emerald in the overture. Only got pictures of her in her party girl costume though :(

Remember Me?

Oh, I'm going private in August....Haha! I'm what FLYlady would called a sidetracked home executive. AND, I've decided not to go private. Not going to go into the private vs. not private debate right now, just don't have it in me. I'm making a goal to update this blog at least once a month. We have so much going on in our family that we want to share with you! I will post a few newborn pics of Owen even though he is now nearly 5 months old! Haylie Jo finished swim club in November and will be starting Jr. Piranhas swim team in January. Jozlyn is right now in the midst of The Nutcracker! Boy that girl can dance! Josh is working away. What am I doing? Well, I work to help everyone else! Who gets those girls to swim team and dance? Who cooks dinner and cleans the house? I do! Although I'm thinking about staging an intervention. This morning I found a pair of socks on the living room floor. I asked (the person here will remain nameless) if they were dirty. "Yes." Then they walked away...just like that....
